Anastasia Coope Darning Woman

Anastasia Coope's debut album, Darning Woman was released on 31 May 2024 and world-wide on 6 June 2024. The 21-year-old New York artist delves into themes of domesticity, gender roles, and identity through a distinctive mix of freak folk and experimental sounds. The album is noted for its haunting and ethereal quality. The songs' main accompaniment is a guitar, however, the guitar sounds almost untuned. The album has an 1930s, folky, avant-garde style, featuring standout tracks like Darning Woman, He Is On His Way Home, We Don’t Live Together, Women’s Role in War, and Newbin Time.
